Welcome to our Mongolia Travel Blog

Our Mongolia travel blog is written by Jess – the founder of Eternal Landscapes Mongolia.  This is your informal introduction to our Mongolia.  Use our Mongolia travel blog for inspiration. Dip into it to discover more.

The blog is divided into four sections – Experience, See, Learn, Community.Or, if you’re short on time, every week I put one or a few posts … In The Spotlight.

This week … as part of our ‘be part of a bigger travel philosophy’ Crowdfunding campaign, we are creating a series of free virtual tours introducing you to our Mongolia. As you can’t currently travel to Mongolia, we will bring Mongolia to you.

Some of the experiences available in Mongolia are probably quite surprising. Use our ‘Experience Mongolia’ blog posts for inspiration.

Mongolians typically divide their country into three main landscapes – the Gobi, Tal and Khangai (desert, steppe and mountain) but for our ‘Place To See In Mongolia’ posts we divide the country into five geographical sections (Gobi, Central Heartland, western Mongolia, northern Mongolia, eastern Mongolia) plus the capital city Ulaanbaatar.

Mongolia is the 18th largest country in the world and with a population of only just over 3 million, it is one of the least densely populated.  Our ‘Learn About Mongolia’ blog posts will help introduce you to a country that has the world’s fifth-largest desert (the Gobi),  a breeding population of snow leopards, Kazakh eagle hunters and a very modern capital city where Prius cars dominate.
