Many Western tour companies recommend staying at the more ‘exclusive’ camps on the eastern shore of Mongolia’s Khovsgol Nuur. However, we’re also big fans of the western shore. With a bit of effort, you can hike into the Khoridol Saridag Mountains, including the 2,300-metre Chuchee Uul, which offers truly spectacular views.
