Welcome to Eternal Landscapes: Your DMC Partner in Mongolia

Eternal Landscapes is a small DMC in Mongolia, specialising in meaningful travel experiences that prioritise responsible tourism, strong local partnerships, and authentic cultural connections. As a Mongolian-registered tourism business and a proud member of the Mongolian Tourism Association, we are committed to the country we call home.

Founded by Jess, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society honored for her work in Mongolia, and her Mongolian business partner Turuu, Eternal Landscapes is built on a deep commitment to Mongolia’s people, culture, and communities. Our small size allows us to provide a level of flexibility and personalization that larger companies often cannot. Guided by our low-volume philosophy, we focus on delivering meaningful, tailored experiences and pride ourselves on being open, honest, and transparent about whether we’re the right fit for your needs.

We work across the entire country, conducting our own ongoing research to ensure an in-depth understanding of Mongolia’s diverse regions.

This approach provides us with the expertise to design meaningful experiences that embrace the unique benefits and challenges of each of Mongolia’s four distinct seasons.

Yes, Gorkhi-Terelj is the closest national park to Ulaanbaatar and is very developed (some would say over developed) for the tourist industry (the main valley was first developed for tourism in 1964) but it shares a common border with Khan Khentii and the two reserves are similar. Between the two sites, altitudinal variation is significant, leading to the development of different habitats but both support large areas of forest steppe and mountain steppe, with alpine habitats on higher peaks. The area is rich in rivers and streams, including the Terelj and Tuul and these water sources together with the rainfall in this mountainous region brings life to the pastureland – providing grazing for the livestock of the herding families who make this area their home. These herders include Naraa, Bujee (his wife) and their two children Tsindee and Bayasa – the family we work with in the region.

Rather than working through local agents, we form long-term partnerships with communities and individuals who seek to supplement their income through tourism. This not only fosters authentic connections but also ensures that your tour payments directly benefit the rural communities you visit, contributing to equitable tourism.

While we understand the appeal of traditional Mongolian images—nomads, eagle hunters, Naadam, and the Tsaatan reindeer herders—we also offer innovative ideas that celebrate modern 21st-century Mongolia. We’re here to help you challenge stereotypes, but we respect if these approaches don’t align with your needs or those of your clients.

As a Mongolia DMC, we build mutually beneficial partnerships with our partners, grounded in trust, transparency, and shared success.

We don’t list our partners here to respect their brand and privacy, but feel free to contact us for more details.
